I think it is the older version of Windows.

I can use the keyboard to choose which drive to boot from and whether to boot windows normally or into Safe Mode.

One day I did a hard reboot and then it froze on "Verifying DMI Pool Data" every startup after that. I first had a problem detecting the HDD when I used an old one but then tried a Windows XP SP2 disc and everything went fine.
