It did a 5 phase update during shutdown and restart. Even if the update goes without a hitch, there is also a secondary and known issue where there are just too many old updates clogging up windows update. After install of SUR package reboot, connect to internet and do a manual Windows Update, it should work much faster now. I had 108 "Important" Win 7 updates to download/install....no progress was shown on the bar or in the numbers below...so, reading MIchael_261's wisdom, I left it "download" overnight....and viola!
