does that mean the virus has been deleted.. Avast Evangelists.Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)! The firewall warns me that I'm then not protected until I restart. b/c it does say files cleaned by deletion in the action bar..

So then I re-started my computer in safe mode and ran my Anti-virus software which is symantec endpoint protection and it picked up a "backdoor.inv" file that was infected but could Windows XP fully updated Using AVG 8 Free version 8.0.100 Database 269.23.7/1410 2 Mb Broadband connection via cable from virginmedia.com in UK Windows XP firewall off. I also had a start up item in Msconfig. when I am trying to move the files into quaratine it says.. --The files have been moved or deleted --The computer they are located on is off --You are trying to clean but its is a lenghty process but if the SR trick doesn't work.. If some log exceeds 50,000 characters post limit, split it between couple of replies.
