I read somewhere that it might be the two different speeds of the HDD's causing the sound anomaly together, not sure what truth there is to that or how i could Now that you mention heat, I'm thinking that if that is so, then somehow the internal clearances in that drive may be out of whack. But try and do it without turning off features or removing drives from the OPs system.
