The problem seems to be with Vista and WD said they are looking into it, big help. Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. Installed the microsoft hotfix, no luck there either! Right click on it and select 'run as administrator' and it's no longer an issue.

Make sure that the BIOS is configured to boot from the hard drive. Hope this helps, if more help needed, I will do what I can Click to expand... I also run vista ultimate on one internal hard disk and XP on another so I can boot between two configurations with exactly the same hardware. Great you think, but oh no, it's not that simple.

& I had the store install the 32 ver.

I got it to work by holding CTRL as soon as I saw windows loading, and holding it through windows startup.
The Intel ones (yellow) have the exact same outcome. I know that sounds a bit confusing, that you have a C: drive in Vista and a different C: drive in 7 but, trust me, it works. If i boot into Linux instead, all goes well. his comment is here One thing which i didn't try last night, was way to late and i didn't want to attempt a bios update to ( 1.3 ) at 2am in the morning!

I got home from work, put the drive in (both as cs on one ide channel) and bam, it's working fine now (but obviously linux won't boot, since I formated the Sign up now.
